Nealy Hamson

Nealy Hamson has two master's degrees, one in Educational Administration from McKendree University and another in School Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. She brings over 20 years of combined experience in education as a classroom teacher and a school counselor.

Nealy's passion for education came from a personal experience with a teacher who recognized and nurtured her potential, fostering a desire in her to support and pour into students the same way. As an educator, she aims to recognize students with untapped potential by cultivating an environment where students flourish. She currently works as a school counselor at Mt. Vernon Township High School and as the Educational Liaison for the Jefferson County CEO Program. She brings value to students by aligning their schedules with their plans to ensure they go into programs that build skills to make them marketable upon graduation. She also assists students in finding and financing college options, writing letters of recommendation, and providing colleges with the data they need so they can gain acceptance.

Nealy states, "I am fortunate that I've never had to work a day because I get paid to do something that I truly love, to have that small impact on a student's life." She loves the CEO Program because students grow immeasurably; watching them transition from barely asking questions to speaking in front of large community groups within months has been an enriching experience. "When students get involved in something like this, it opens up a new life pathway and often provides a new awareness of their potential and greatness."
