This week TJ Cowan visited our class and spoke to us about the importance of being agile and being able to rely on yourself. He noted that “No one is coming to save you and no one is coming to stop you.” Explaining that the only person in your way is yourself. “Don’t get paralyzed with perfection.” Don’t let yourself get caught up in trying to be perfect or be better than others, focus on yourself and what you can do to improve your ways. TJ spoke about the importance of being able to pivot if things go wrong, “there’s always a better way”.

“A rising tide can lift all boats” in other words, TJ meant that surrounding yourself with hard workers, reliable people, and support can help keep you floating in the same direction. Although that seems great, if you surround yourself with bad apples, lazy people, and irresponsibility, you too will become like them.

TJ was an excellent speaker and both times he has visited our class have been memorable ones!
