This week, our CEO group had the opportunity to visit Monken Toyota and learn from a business built on longevity, people, and doing things the right way. Founded in 1967, Monken has a long history of success, and since purchasing the Mt. Vernon location in 2018, they have continued to grow while staying true to their values. We learned the history of the dealership, why they chose to partner with Toyota, and how that decision has helped shape their long-term success.
From the moment we walked in, it was clear that accuracy, preparation, and organization are key to their operation. Their facility is extremely clean and well organized, with clear procedures guiding every part of the business. The staff is highly trained and held to a high standard, with a strong belief that the customer relationships are crucial to success. The parts department serves as the backbone of the dealership, supporting all other areas of the operation.
Customer focus and retention are central to their mission. Learning your customer, being personable, operating with transparency, and striving to be different are what set Monken Toyota apart.
