We had the opportunity to hear from guest speaker Mark Belen, who shared an engaging look at his career path from wanting to be a radio DJ to sales and the lessons he has learned along the way. Mark emphasized that sales is one of the few careers where you always know whether you are succeeding, and when you are on a quota, time truly flies.

He broke down the realities of a career in sales, highlighting the pros such as high earning potential, fast career growth, clear goals, travel opportunities, constant interaction with people, transferable skills, strong networking, and the fact that sales is always in demand. He was equally honest about the challenges, including repetition, rejection, pressure, stress, and the common misconception that salespeople are sleazy.

Mark also brought in several items to demonstrate how technology has evolved over the years, which sparked great conversation and reminded students how quickly industries change and why adaptability matters.

He closed with powerful personal tenets and final thoughts that challenged students to be intentional, disciplined, and proactive in their daily habits. A practical and motivating message that left our students thinking about effort, mindset, and the long game.

Thank you, Mark, for sharing your journey and insight to our young entrepreneurs!
