What an incredible day of learning, networking, and growth for our young entrepreneurs!

Students from Union, Saline, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, and Franklin counties came together at Southern Illinois University Carbondale for the Regional Student Entrepreneurship Workshop. They were enthusiastically welcomed by Chancellor Dr. Austin A. Lane and immediately immersed in a high-energy, hands-on experience focused on preparing for what’s ahead.

The day centered around crafting the perfect pitch and gaining valuable insight into how to prepare for the upcoming trade show season. From finding their voice to refining elevator pitches, students had the opportunity to learn, practice, and present in a supportive environment designed to build confidence and sharpen their skills.

Throughout the day, students heard from a variety of experienced professionals in the business field who shared practical advice, real-world insight, and strategies they can immediately apply to their own ventures.

From pitch practice to trade show strategy and meaningful networking over lunch, this workshop was a powerful reminder that the entrepreneurial journey is strengthened through community, mentorship, and hands-on learning.

We are excited to see how these students take what they learned and apply it as they head into trade show season! 🚀
