đź‘” PROFESSIONALISM... OR NOT?
Our guest speaker Brian Harland, CEO Board member and CFO of Spero Family Services, made quite the first impression when he walked in late and looking anything but professional.
But don’t let his appearance fool you. It was all part of the lesson!
Brian used his entrance to show our young entrepreneurs just how quickly we form impressions and why professionalism matters. He challenged students to think beyond simply “dressing professionally” and recognize that professionalism is reflected in how you dress, act, work, communicate, follow through, handle mistakes, treat others, and build your reputation.
One of the biggest reminders of the morning was that every interaction is an opportunity and your reputation follows you. The way you present yourself today can impact the opportunities, recommendations, relationships, and connections that come your way tomorrow.
Brian summed it up with three great reminders:
Dress like you respect the opportunity.
Act like you deserve the opportunity.
Work like you want the next one.
Thank you, Brian, for a memorable lesson and for reminding our young entrepreneurs that professionalism isn't just about what you wear. It's about the reputation you build every single day. đź’Ľ
