🔴🔵🟢🟡 Getting to Know Ourselves Through DISC

Jefferson County CEO joined forces with Little Egypt CEO for a morning of learning, connection, and a deeper dive into DISC with Chris Egelston, Community Engagement Leader with the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship.

Chris helped our young entrepreneurs move beyond simply knowing their DISC results to understanding how those styles influence the way we communicate, collaborate, lead, and respond to others.

Through role-playing and a hands-on Marshmallow Tower Challenge, students were able to see DISC in action. Each style brings different strengths and challenges to a team, and understanding those differences can help us work together more effectively.

As a magician by trade, Chris even brought a little magic into the lesson! 🃏 He compared DISC to a deck of cards. Every hand contains a different combination of cards with different values, but there is more than one way to build a winning hand. The same is true of a team. Our differences aren't something to overcome. They are strengths we can learn to use together.

One of the biggest takeaways from the morning: We become a stronger team when we understand one another better.
