A few members of Jefferson County CEO program had the wonderful opportunity to attend the book tour for Mr. David and Mrs. Ashley Eckstein. This event celebrated their brand new books, Just Enough by David and Lucky 22 by Ashley. The couple shared how their books highlight stories about their careers, faith, perseverance, and experiences together. David is a former St. Louis Cardinals baseball player, two time World Series winner, and was the 2006 World Series MVP. Ashley is a successful actor, business owner, and fashion designer, and is known for voicing Ashoka Tano in Star Wars. Ashley also shared with us personally about how she opened up her own business called Her Universe, which was the first business for women's Star Wars apparel. Some of our biggest takeaways from this event was to always support your friends or partners in everything they do and to always “treat everyday like it's the big leagues”. It was an amazing opportunity to listen to David and Ashley speak, meet them, and have a copy of their signed books.
This event also helped support the SSM Health Foundation - Southern Illinois. This helped bring the community together while also supporting SSM Health’s mission of improving healthcare in the region. Jefferson County CEO would like to give a shout out and thank you to Mr. Bryan Stirewalt, a former Chief Executive of the Dubai Financial Services Authority, for purchasing our tickets to the book signing. We truly appreciate it! We would also like to express our gratitude to Ms. Kay Zibby-Damron, the Regional Foundation Director for SSM Health for helping us get this opportunity to attend this event, thank you! This event brought together fans, families, and community members from the surrounding area and we could not be more thankful for the opportunity.
