Today, we had the opportunity to learn from Kari Lowery about marketing, communication, and what it takes to successfully put on large events.

One quote that really stood out was: “What shines in the light was forged in the shadows.” It was a great reminder that success often comes from the hard work and challenges people don’t always see.

Some of the biggest takeaways from today included:

- The importance of communication and being able to lean on the team you are working with
- Learning from other businesses and events because you can never know everything
-Thinking creatively about sponsorships and in-kind trades
-Supporting the people who support you
-Keeping track of what you promise so you don’t miss small details
