Jefferson County CEO took a business visit to “the Law Offices” Black, Ballard, McDonald P.C and got to hear from partner Matthew Flanigan on his role in the legal field and the history behind the practice.

From oil and gas to coal, estate planning, litigation, and being involved in your community, Matthew showed our group that being a lawyer doesn’t always mean being in court. One major role a lawyer plays can be similar to that of a counselor when it comes to meeting the needs of their clients. He explained how he must document and keep a log of his hours throughout the day to determine his billable hours.
