π Business Spotlight: Hembeez Honey & Crystal Clear Pool and Spa π π ππ»ββοΈ
Today our CEO students had the opportunity to hear from Crystal Hemby, owner of Hembeez Honey and Crystal Clear Pool and Spa, two businesses operating from the same location. Crystal was also joined by a special guest, her dog Leo, who made the visit even more memorable. πΎ
Crystal shared the story of a family business that began with her parents in 1995 and is now moving into its third generation. She joined the family business in 1999, and she and her husband took it over in 2009, continuing to grow the business while serving a large territory.
That same year brought a life changing moment when a cancer diagnosis sparked a personal health journey, which ultimately led to the creation of Hembeez Honey. What started as a personal pursuit grew into a thriving brand that now ships products internationally, with each product incorporating a byproduct of the hive. π―π
Crystal encouraged students to stay true to who they are, reminding them that just because someone might do something differently does not mean it is wrong. She emphasized the importance of knowing the story behind your business, because people connect with authenticity.
Students also heard practical advice about:
π Building a brand that stands out
π― Leveraging social media to grow your reach
πββοΈ Using product testing and customer feedback to improve and evolve
π Not being afraid of failure and continuing to try until you get it right
One memorable piece of wisdom Crystal shared came from her grandmother:
βDonβt ever start slinging mud on someone. The onlookers are never going to know which person is the dirty one.β
Crystal also serves as a mentor for our CEO program, so our students benefit not only from visits like today but also from her continued guidance and support throughout the year.
She reminded students that your business is a reflection of you, and that one of the most rewarding parts of entrepreneurship is improving customersβ quality of life and helping people.
Thank you, Crystal, for sharing your story and investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs. And of course, thanks to Leo for being the best four legged host. πΆππ―πββοΈ
